We’re excited to bring you a new and improved card experience!

Beginning Friday, August 21, Leaders will complete the Compass Card Refresh, transitioning our credit cards from Visa® to Mastercard® . You'll receive a new card with an updated design and card number that has enhanced card management features, but your credit card account, credit limit, and payment due date will remain the same.

What should I expect?

The Compass Card Refresh is bringing new credit Mastercards to Leaders members. While you'll receive a new card design and card number, most aspects of your credit card account will remain the same. 

 

Your new credit Mastercard will be mailed on August 10. Continue using your current Visa credit card until Friday, August 21.
Existing rewards points will automatically transfer to your new card.
*Points may take several days to appear.
Activate your new credit Mastercard on Friday, August 21, when your current Visa credit card will stop working.
Rewards earning and redemption will be temporarily unavailable during the refresh weekend.
Your credit limit, payment due date, minimum payment, and interest rate will remain the same.
All card management features will move from the Card Controls App into the Leaders CU App.

How should I prepare?

A few simple steps before August 21 will help ensure a smooth transition to your new credit Mastercard. 

 

  • Continue using your current Visa credit card until August 21.
  • Plan to activate your new credit Mastercard and add it to your digital wallet on August 21.
  • Download any historical credit card statements you wish to keep before August 21. 
  • Make note of any subscriptions or recurring payments tied to your current card.

What is changing?

The Compass Card Refresh includes several enhancements designed to simplify card management and improve your overall experience. 


  • You'll receive a new credit Mastercard with a new card number, expiration date, and security code
  • All authorized users will receive new cards with unique card numbers
  • Recurring payments and digital wallets will need to be updated with your new card information
  • The Leaders Card Controls App will be retired, and all card management features will move into the Leaders CU App
  • There have been updates to when we review the Prime Rate used to determine your variable Annual Percentage Rate (APR) and how often your variable APR may change. Read full Change in Terms.

We're refreshing our credit cards from Visa to Mastercard. This allows us to provide enhanced features, improved security, and an updated experience while continuing to deliver the service you expect.

Your current Visa credit card will be deactivated at 5:45am CST on Friday, August 21. You may activate and begin using your new credit Mastercard on Friday, August 21.

Receiving & Activating your New Card

Your new credit Mastercard will be mailed on Monday, August 10. Please allow 7–10 days for delivery. Once received, hold on to your new card and continue using your current Visa credit card until Friday, August 21. Beginning August 21, you can activate and start using your new credit Mastercard. Please verify that your mailing address is up to date to ensure timely delivery.

 

When you receive your new credit Mastercard, hold on to it, and continue using your current Visa credit card. You should activate your new card on Friday, August 21. Once activated, your new card is ready to use!

Continue using your current Visa credit card until it is deactivated at 5:45am CST on Friday, August 21.  Please activate and begin using your new credit Mastercard on Friday, August 21, and securely destroy your current Visa credit card by dropping it off in branch to be securely disposed of or by cutting through the chip and card number.

 

You may activate your new credit Mastercard by calling the activation number provided on the sticker attached to your card and following the prompts. Once activated, your card will be ready to use immediately. You may activate your card beginning Friday, August 21. Don’t forget to add your new credit Mastercard to your digital wallet.

 

 

 

Your current Visa credit card will be deactivated at 5:45am CST on Friday, August 21. To avoid interruptions, activate your new credit Mastercard on Friday, August 21.

If you have not received your replacement card by Monday, August 24, please contact us immediately. Call us at 731-664-1784, email support@leaderscu.com, or visit a Leaders branch near you to speak with a Financial Champion who can help.

Each eligible credit card will receive its own replacement credit Mastercard.

Your new credit Mastercard is part of the Compass Card Refresh and will not be available for use until Friday, August 21. Until then, please continue using your current Visa credit card. Beginning August 21, you can activate your new card and begin using it immediately.

 

Because of this, we encourage you to know you account balance before 5 p.m. on October 31 and manually track your spending during the upgrade to avoid overdrafts. 

Using Your Card During the Refresh Weekend

Yes. Your credit Mastercard and digital banking will remain available during the Compass Card Refresh. However, recent credit card transactions will not be available within digital banking until after the refresh.

 

As part of the refresh, the Card Controls App is being retired and all card management features will be available within the Leaders CU App beginning Monday, August 24.

 

Replacement credit cards can still be issued during the weekend of the Compass Card Refresh. However, no new debit cards will be available on Friday, August 21 or Saturday, August 22.

Card Numbers, Payments, and Digital Wallets

Yes. Your new credit Mastercard will have a new card number, expiration date, and security code (CVV). Any authorized users who currently have a credit card linked to your account will also be given a new, unique, credit card number.

 

As part of the refresh, the Card Controls App is being retired and all card management features will be available within the Leaders CU App beginning Monday, August 24.

 

Yes. Any merchant, app, or subscription service that stores your credit card information will need to be updated with your new credit Mastercard information.

  • Utility providers
  • Insurance companies
  • Streaming services
  • Online retailers
  • And more…

Yes. After you have activated your new credit Mastercard on Friday, August 21, you will need to remove your old Visa credit card and add your new card information to any digital wallets you use.

 

As part of the Compass Card Refresh Sweepstakes, members who add their new credit Mastercard to a digital wallet, enroll in e-Statements, and download the Leaders CU mobile app can enter for a chance to win $1,000.

Yes. Your new credit Mastercard will support contactless tap-to-pay transactions.

Rewards

Yes. Existing rewards points will automatically transfer to your new credit Mastercard account. Points may take several business days to appear following the refresh.

 

To complete the refresh to our new credit Mastercards, rewards earning will be temporarily unavailable from 5:45 am on Friday, August 21 through 8:00 am on Monday, August 24. Purchases made during this time will not earn rewards points. Your ability to make purchases with your credit card will not be affected during this time. Only rewards earning will be temporarily unavailable.

No. The rewards platform will be temporarily unavailable from Friday, August 21 through Sunday, August 23 while we complete the Compass Card Refresh. Rewards redemption is expected to resume on Monday, August 24.

 

As part of this refresh, expiration of all rewards points will be reset for an additional five years from September, giving you more time to redeem your rewards.

Nothing is being taken away, but as part of the Compass Card Refresh, we're adding new and exciting ways to redeem rewards. We'll share more details soon.

Authorized Users

Yes. All authorized users who currently have their own Visa credit card linked to your account will automatically receive a new credit Mastercard.

 

No. Each authorized user's new credit Mastercard will receive a unique card number while remaining linked to the same credit card account and sharing the same credit limit.

Billing & Account Details

No. Your new credit Mastercard will have no annual fee, just like the card it replaces.

 

Yes. There have been updates to when we review the Prime Rate used to determine your variable Annual Percentage Rate (APR) and how often your variable APR may change. Read full change in terms.

No. Your credit limit, payment due date, and payment responsibilities will remain the same following the Compass Card Refresh.

 

Yes. Pending disputes, merchant credits, and refunds will continue to be processed through your account during and after the refresh.

Yes. The new address for payment will be included on your credit card statement. If you pay this bill through online bill payment, you will need to update the mailing address to P.O. Box 2711, Omaha, NE 68103-2711 on or after Friday, August 21 to ensure that your payment reaches the processor by your due date.

 

To ensure there is no interruption in automated payments, contact the provider of this service (i.e., another bank or bill pay service) on or after Friday, August 21 and provide your new card number and payment address of P.O. Box 2711 Omaha, NE 68103-2711.

Mobile App

Starting on Monday, August 24, you'll be able to manage both your credit Mastercard and Leaders debit card all within the Leaders CU mobile app. The Leaders Card Controls app will be retired, bringing your card controls and everyday banking tools together in one convenient app. Download the Leaders CU App now!

 

Beginning Monday, August 24, you'll manage your credit Mastercard and Leaders debit card directly within the Leaders CU mobile app. The Leaders Card Controls app will be retired, allowing you to access card controls and everyday banking features all in one place.

Credit Card Statements

If you are currently enrolled in e-Statements you will continue to be enrolled and receive e-Statements for your new credit Mastercard.

 

No. Historical statements found through our mobile app, online banking, or card controls app will no longer be available beginning Friday, August 21. If you are enrolled in e-Statements, we encourage you to download all previous statements for your records prior to the refresh. Following the refresh on Monday, August 24, you may request historical credit card statements by contacting us at support@leaderscu.com or calling us at 731-664-1784.

Debit Cards

No immediate action is needed for your Leaders debit card. Leaders debit cards are already Mastercard, so they are not part of this credit card refresh. When your current debit card expires, you'll receive a replacement card featuring our updated debit card design.

 

Sweepstakes

Members who complete all three of the following actions by September 30 will be entered for a chance to win $1,000:

    • Activate your new credit Mastercard.
    • Add your new credit Mastercard to a digital wallet. (i.e. Apple Pay, Google Pay, or Samsung Wallet)
    • Enroll in e-Statements.
