We’re excited to bring you a new and improved card experience!

On Monday, August 24, Leaders will complete the Compass Card Refresh, transitioning our credit cards from Visa® to Mastercard®. You'll receive a new card with an updated design and card number that has enhanced card management features, but your credit card account, credit limit, and payment due date will remain the same.

What should I expect?

The Compass Card Refresh is bringing new credit Mastercards to Leaders members. While you'll receive a new card design and card number, most aspects of your credit card account will remain the same. 

 

Your new credit Mastercard will be mailed on August 10. Continue using your current Visa credit card until Monday, August 24.
Your credit limit, payment due date, minimum payment, and interest rate will remain the same.
Activate your new credit Mastercard on Monday, August 24, when your current Visa credit card will stop working.
Existing rewards points will transfer to your new card.
*There may be a delay in points appearing.
All card management features will move from the Leaders Card Controls App into the primary Leaders CU App. Only one app for all accounts.
Rewards redemption will be temporarily unavailable from August 19 through October 1. However, you will continue to earn rewards during this time.

How should I prepare?

A few simple steps before August 24 will help ensure a smooth transition to your new credit Mastercard. 

 

  • Continue using your current Visa credit card until August 24.
  • Plan to activate your new credit Mastercard and add it to your digital wallet on August 24.
  • Make note of any subscriptions or recurring payments tied to your current card.
  • Download any historical credit card statements you wish to keep before August 24.

What is changing?

The Compass Card Refresh includes several enhancements designed to simplify card management and improve your overall experience. 


  • You'll receive a new credit Mastercard with a new card number, expiration date, and security code
  • All authorized users will receive new cards with unique card numbers
  • Recurring payments and digital wallets will need to be updated with your new card information
  • The Leaders Card Controls App will be retired, and all card management features will move into the Leaders CU App
  • There will be changes to the terms on how frequently your Variable Rate is reviewed and the definition of Foreign Transaction. Learn more about these Change in Terms.

On Monday, August 24, Leaders will complete the Compass Card Refresh, transitioning our credit cards from Visa to Mastercard. You'll receive a new card with an updated design and card number that has enhanced card management features, but your credit card account, credit limit, and payment due date will remain the same. We're refreshing our credit cards from Visa to Mastercard. This allows us to provide enhanced features, improved security, and an updated experience while continuing to deliver the service you expect.

Your current Visa credit card will be deactivated on Monday, August 24. You may activate and begin using your new credit Mastercard on Monday, August 24.

Receiving & Activating your New Card

Your new credit Mastercard will be mailed on Monday, August 10. Please allow 7–10 days for delivery. Once received, hold on to your new card and continue using your current Visa credit card until Monday, August 24. On August 24, you can activate and start using your new credit Mastercard. Please verify that your mailing address is up to date to ensure timely delivery.

 

When you receive your new credit Mastercard, hold on to it, and continue using your current Visa credit card. You should activate your new card on Monday, August 24. Once activated, your new card is ready to use!

Continue using your current Visa credit card until it is deactivated on Monday, August 24.  Please activate and begin using your new credit Mastercard on Monday, August 24, and securely destroy your current Visa credit card by dropping it off in branch to be securely disposed of or by cutting through the chip and card number.

 

You may activate your new credit Mastercard by calling the activation number provided on the sticker attached to your card and following the prompts. Once activated, your card will be ready to use immediately. You may activate your card on Monday, August 24. Don’t forget to add your new credit Mastercard to your digital wallet.

 

 

 

Your current Visa credit card will be deactivated on Monday, August 24. To avoid interruptions, activate your new credit Mastercard on Monday, August 24.

If you have not received your replacement card by Monday, August 24, please contact us immediately. Call us at 731-664-1784, email support@leaderscu.com, or visit a Leaders branch near you to speak with a Financial Champion who can help.

Each eligible credit card will receive its own replacement credit Mastercard.

Your new credit Mastercard is part of the Compass Card Refresh and will not be available for use until Monday, August 24. Until then, please continue using your current Visa credit card. On August 24, you can activate your new card and begin using it immediately.

Card Numbers, Payments, and Digital Wallets

Yes. Your new credit Mastercard will have a new card number, expiration date, and security code (CVV). Any authorized users who currently have a credit card linked to your account will also be given a new, unique, credit card number.

 

As part of the refresh, the Card Controls App is being retired and all card management features will be available within the Leaders CU App beginning Monday, August 24.

 

Yes. Any merchant, app, or subscription service that stores your credit card information will need to be updated with your new credit Mastercard information.

  • Spotify
  • Hulu
  • DoorDash
  • Utility providers
  • Insurance companies
  • Streaming services
  • Online retailers
  • And more…

Yes. After you have activated your new credit Mastercard on Monday, August 24, you will need to remove your old Visa credit card and add your new card information to any digital wallets you use.

 

As part of the Compass Card Refresh Sweepstakes, members who add their new credit Mastercard to a digital wallet, enroll in e-Statements, and download the Leaders CU mobile app can enter for a chance to win $1,000.

Yes. Your new credit Mastercard will support contactless tap-to-pay transactions.

Rewards

 Yes. Existing rewards will automatically transfer to your new credit Mastercard account.

 

There will be a rewards redemption blackout from August 19 to October 1 when members will be unable to redeem rewards. However, rewards will continue to be earned during this time.

Yes. Members will continue to earn both cash back and rewards from August 19 through October 1, despite not being able to redeem rewards. 

 

As part of this refresh, expiration of all rewards points will be reset for an additional five years starting from August 2026, giving you more time to redeem your rewards.

Nothing is being taken away, but as part of the Compass Card Refresh, there will be new and exciting ways to redeem rewards. Compass Rewards cardholders will now earn 1.25 pts per dollar spent.

Authorized Users

Yes. All authorized users who currently have their own Visa credit card linked to your account will automatically receive a new credit Mastercard.

 

No. Each authorized user's new credit Mastercard will receive a unique card number while remaining linked to the same credit card account and sharing the same credit limit.

Billing & Account Details

No. Your new credit Mastercard will have no annual fee, just like the card it replaces.

 

Note for business members: Our Compass Business Credit Cards do have an annual fee after the first year.

 

Yes. There will be changes to the terms on how frequently your Variable Rate is reviewed and the definition of Foreign Transaction.  Learn more about these Change in Terms.

No. Your credit limit, payment due date, and payment responsibilities will remain the same following the Compass Card Refresh.

 

Yes. Pending disputes, merchant credits, and refunds will continue to be processed through your account during and after the refresh.

Yes. The new address for payment will be included on your credit card statement. If you pay this bill through online bill payment, you will need to update the mailing address to P.O. Box 2711, Omaha, NE 68103-2711 on or after Monday, August 24 to ensure that your payment reaches the processor by your due date.

To ensure there is no interruption in automated payments, contact the provider of this service (i.e., another bank or bill pay service) on or after Monday, August 24 and provide your new card number and payment address of P.O. Box 2711 Omaha, NE 68103-2711.

Mobile App

On Monday, August 24, you'll be able to manage both your credit Mastercard and Leaders debit card all within the Leaders CU App. The Leaders Card Controls App will be retired, bringing your card controls and everyday banking tools together in one convenient app. Download the Leaders CU App now!

 

On Monday, August 24, you'll manage your credit Mastercard and Leaders debit card directly within the Leaders CU App. The Leaders Card Controls App will be retired, allowing you to access card controls and everyday banking features all in one place.

Credit Card Statements

If you are currently enrolled in e-Statements you will continue to be enrolled and receive e-Statements for your new credit Mastercard.

 

No. Historical statements found through our mobile app, online banking, or card controls app will no longer be available beginning Monday, August 24. If you are enrolled in e-Statements, we encourage you to download all previous statements for your records prior to the refresh. Following the refresh on Monday, August 24, you may request historical credit card statements by contacting us at support@leaderscu.com or calling us at 731-664-1784.

Debit Cards

No immediate action is needed for your Leaders consumer debit card. Leaders debit cards are already Mastercard, so they are not part of this credit card refresh. When your current debit card expires, you'll receive a replacement card featuring our updated debit card design.

 

If you are a business member, you will be receiving a new business debit card beginning Monday, August 31. For more information, visit our card refresh for business page.

Official Rules

* The Compass Card Refresh Sweepstakes are open to eligible existing Leaders Credit Union credit cardholders from 8/24/26 through 09/30/26. Members who activate their new credit Mastercard, add it to a digital wallet, and enroll in e-Statements (or are already enrolled) will be entered.  Winners will be selected in a random drawing by 10/15/26. Winners will be notified by phone and email and must respond within seven (7) days to claim the prize of $1,000. Prize will be deposited into winners account. Employees, board members, and immediate family members of Leaders Credit Union are not eligible.
